Schoenstatt Mothers’ Branch
The Schoenstatt mothers’ branch was founded in the early 1930s. Our founder, Father Joseph Kentenich, realized that all mothers have both a special charism and a special obligation to the family, to the Church, and to the world. The Austin Schoenstatt Mothers’ Branch strives to fulfill the calling to be the heart of the family, following the example of the Blessed Mother.
Guided by a lay leader and a Schoenstatt consecrated woman as branch moderator, each group meets on a regular basis to discuss topics that concern them as mothers and as women, always with a focus on integrating Schoenstatt’s Marian lifestyle into their own lives. Retreats and days of recollection that are sponsored by the mothers’ branch help deepen the covenant of love and commitment to the Church and to the goals of Schoenstatt. Schoenstatt mothers serve in a variety of roles in their home parishes.
