The Good Friday Pilgrimage has become our annual gift to the faithful of Austin and beyond. What started 10+ years ago with a small energetic group of students from UT Austin has grown to be an Austin tradition for many. Good Friday is the day Christians all over the world spiritually join Jesus Christ in His Passion and Death for the forgiveness of sins. In Austin, TX we remember Jesus’ walk to Mount Calvary with a 9-mile walk through the streets of Austin.
Schedule
9:30am - Gather at St. Mary's Cathedral
10:00am - Send off blessing and departure
3-3:30pm - Estimated arrival at the Shrine
4:00pm - Good Friday Liturgy
Schoenstatt is an international Catholic movement of education and spiritual formation. We seek to grow as free, dedicated, and active witnesses of Christ in modern life by uniting our faith with our everyday lives. We look to Mary to educate us in this task and to guide us in becoming better followers of Christ.
Membership in the Schoenstatt Movement is open to all. We invite you to attend one of our monthly gatherings or consider becoming a volunteer. Please email us or click here for more information.
The Marian Shrine of Our Lady of Schoenstatt serves the needs of its pilgrims through the generosity of individuals like you. It is thanks to individuals who recognize the importance of this special place of pilgrimage that we are able to continue our mission. Thank you for considering a gift to the Shrine.
